Jean Bag

Sorting out clothing gets a second look.
I adore jean bags when I see them and swore I'd make one some day.
This little skirt is never going to be worn by me again, so it was the perfect opportunity to turn it into a bag. This denim jean bag is 100% recycled from a skirt, suede jacket, and a belt!

This little skirt is never going to be worn by me again, so it was the perfect opportunity to turn it into a bag. This denim jean bag is 100% recycled from a skirt, suede jacket, and a belt!
First, the skirt.
And an outdated suede coat...
sewn in the suede to the bottom of the skirt as the base of the bag.
Then reused the button embellishment from the sleeves of the coat on the back pockets of the skirt.
I simply sewed on the suede and buttons onto the pockets.
Then slipped on a leather belt through the loops for a handle strap.
It's large enough to hold a tablet...
and the pockets hold keys, phone, etc.
Those sewn on parts keep the phone in place in the pocket.
Just cinch the bag to carry with the belt over the shoulder.
It was VERY easy to do...
And 100% recycled clothing and a belt!

Looks like the waist band of the skirt would be a great place for those who aren't shy about sewing a zipper into the bag...just a thought to keep pickpockets at bay. I never carry an open bag/purse when in public. It is a VERY cool look !!
