Old Vanity Makeover!

She was a beauty in rough shape
That mirror!
She needed some work- looks like she was being used as a scratching post. I consulted with some very talented ladies on one of the painting blogs I'm a member of, and was told about a mold making product and Durhams Rock Hard Putty, so, I went to work!

The finished product- General Finishes Lamp Black Milk Paint, sealed with Polyvine Wax Finish Varnish in satin.
Highlighted touches were a custom mix of Rub N Buff, to match the copper painted pulls.
And finally, fabric lined drawers. My favorite final touch.

That looks beautiful. I've never been a fraid of using black paint. I saw the scratches in the the wood. Does look like a cat got a hold of it. ( naughty kitty ) . Sometimes between age and moisture furniture's wood can become soft. That does make it more delicate to try and work with. I always make sure the products that I use have hardeners in them and yes then some really good sealers. Beautiful...
