We'd like to introduce Meegan, the clever crafter behind the blog What Meegan Makes. The Fall spirit had captured Meegan's heart and she was looking for easy DIY ideas to help decorate her home for the season. Luckily, she discovered Paint-A-Pillow at just the right time. She browsed the Halloween stencil collection and chose a classic Pumpkin pattern. Then she selected white pillow covers and Jacquard fabric paint in orange and black to complete her project. Here is a sneak peek at what she created:
Isn't this absolutely adorable? We certainly think so! Now let's talk about how you can recreate a Fall-themed pillow. Meegan opened her Paint-A-Pillow box and was ready to start stenciling since the kit comes with all of the supplies needed.
She placed her items in her crafting space and was ready to start her project.
Meegan used a stencil brush to paint the pattern. She wanted a watercolor effect so she painted the outer portion of the pumpkin a darker shade of orange.
Meegan was careful to not overload the brush with too much paint because this would have caused the paint to bleed under the stencil. For the stem of the pumpkin, she painted it in Woodland Green.
After her pillow was painted, she lifted the stencil to reveal her pretty pumpkin pattern.
Once her painted cover was dry, Meegan placed her insert inside the cover. Then she decorated her porch with her beautiful Fall-inspired pillow.
