Dingy White Tree Tree Spray Painted Black

This old and dingy white tree was going to be thrown away, but I volunteered to take it. That was 5 years ago. It had been stored in a box, and was really pitiful looking when I ran across it in storage. I scoured Pinterest for ideas...and decided to spray paint it black. I am very traditional so this was a hard decision--but hey, it was free, so I wouldn't be out anything but 6 cans of black spray paint from our local dollar store...and a little time! I decided to use a planter we weren't using anymore, and sprayed it silver. I am pleased with how it turned out.
Almost finished spraying!
We brought it inside and my husband stabilized it in the planter. I had a glass top pedestal I used to sit it on in my foyer.
Added lights
I used silver and white mesh, and silver and white decorations that I already had on hand. Done!
If you look really closely, you can see that some of the white didn't get painted, but it looks fine with the decorations.
I am pleased with how it turned out!

Beautiful!!! Did you add something to the top of the tree to make it branch out? Thank you so much for this post. Gives me more ideas for any tree. You are a talented decorator!

@Dee I just added a few stems of silver branches, and other "picks" I had on hand. Thank you for your compliment--Merry Christmas!

Will the spraypaint stay or will it flake off eventually?

It is lovely but, like others, I wonder why black instead of green.
