Mug Pots

Those cute Sharpie projects on Pinterest caught my eye when I was looking for Master Gardener fundraiser ideas. My committee and I need to produce lots of cute and affordable garden-related items for an upcoming event.
I bought white Dollar Store mugs and used my oil-based Sharpie pen to draw faces on them.
After drawing, I set the mugs in a cool oven and set it to 300 degrees. After 20 minutes, I turned off the oven and let the mugs cool before removing. This is to set your design on the mug.
Plant divisions are great for these little planters. Just fill with good potting soil, plant a spider plant baby and water. Remember, these do not have drainage holes and water sparingly!
Enjoyed the project?

Sandra on May 08, 2016Very cute. Thinking they would be cute in different colors along the ledge of the privacy fence.

Barb Rosen on May 08, 2016@Sandra ~If you put them outside, it will probably be better to drill a drainage hole in them so they don't get too full of water!
