Ruffled Lamp Shade Tutorial

I got this old lamp at a Goodwill store for $3. I cleaned it up and looked for a lamp shade. All of the shades at the stores looked too modern for it so I decided to make my own. I started off with a canvas drop cloth. I cut circles out of it that I folded into quarters. With a hot glue gun I started gluing them on the shade in random directions to give it texture. I was really happy with how it turned out!

I love this look. What size circles did you use? I can't wait to try it!

Have a question about this project?
I am thinking the original shade had crystal on it. You did such a great job but I still wouldn’t know where to begin. Where did the basic shade come from, and was it in good or new condition?
