Easy Copper Plant Pots

I love the look of classic clay pots for plants, but if you want to dress them up a little, but still keep them looking classic and simple, why not add a little copper to them?
All you need are your pots, some painters tape, copper strapy paint, and some cute plants!
Starting with clean clay pots, I used some basic painters tape from the hardware store to tape off the designs I wanted (you can also use some newspaper too, to block off any over spray on the parts you want to keep clay).
Enjoyed the project?

Comet on Mar 19, 2016That spray paint and the Oiled Hammered Bronze make amazing transformations on metals---any cheap metal can be much improved with it but you do have to be somewhat heavy handed--several coats are your friend. You want it to not look completely "smooth" when you are spraying it ; it will dry with a level finish but a depth that looks like real worked metal. I have done several out door tables and it looks great; also a number of other things and all have held up well in the frozen North!
