Pebble and Glass Bathroom Vanity

I built a tray for the vanity and put pebbles in, covered it with plate glass, tiled around it and added a glass vessel sink and waterfall faucet. Love how it turned out
Measured vanity top
After you remove the original counter top it leave the top of the cabinet open.
Then we built a box with a heavy plywood bottom about 3/4" deep (depending on your vanity and plumbing).
Attached the painted box to the inside of the cabinet and fill with pebbles (I used polished)
Measure the glass you will need.
Be sure it's thick enough to hold the sink and have the glass company cut holes for the sink and faucet.
Apply the glass and install the sink and faucet.

Okay - so you totally hosed my renovation project plan. What I thought I wanted to do to my outdated bathroom pales in comparison to the inspiration I just got from you and your vanity. I am a rockhound and have containers of rocks just sitting all over the place. My partner has been threatening to dump them if I don't do something with them. I told him I would work on that after I finish the bathroom. He may flip out that I'm going to have to push my finish date back, but I can use my rocks and get a cool new look that will easily be cheaper than my original plan. WOOTWOOT! Thank you!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Hi Nan, It has been a year since you have had your beautiful glass countertop. My husband and I are just about ready to do this in our guest bathroom. Is there anything that you would change or do differently?
I am hoping to do this in the next couple of weeks instead of adding granite on top for the counter. I think was the glass again ?
Nan one more question
what did yiu you put in the center of the sink so you didn’t see the plywood ? Did you paint ?
because if it sits on the plywood the river rocks would go all the way around it the sink but being a clear sink you would see in the center the plywood because the stone would not be level enough to put directly under the bowl Does that make sense ? Do you know what I mean ?
again how did was the base you made out of plywood ? Thank you so much really appreciate you help !
