I am involved with a group called the "Thrift Store Swap" and for our spring edition, we were instructed to send a wreath and receive a wreath to completely makeover. With the thrift store wreath we are also sending and receiving a "wild card" item to either use with the wreath or makeover on its own.
We don't know what we are getting when our "swap" arrives. This is what I got.
If I added these old wooden clogs, they could hold flowers. Okay, I went for it.
I painted the tulip wreath green. Then painted the tray and clogs white. To make the tray and clogs appear "Delft", I decoupaged on tulips and blue transfer prints.
Then, attached the clogs to the wreath. And then, added the tray over the wreath for the "welcome" sign.
Finally, added red tulips into the clogs.
Now the entire door decor is tulip themed! Challenge was accomplished!
Perfect for Spring and for the Mother's Day Tulip Festival!

Katy Bowss on May 10, 2016Who would have thought? Not me that is for sure. That is such a cool idea for the wooden shoes. You really did a nice job. I like it a lot.
