The Garden Frog with C Renee on Jul 19, 2013Only cut the stems off. Let the leaves do their thing. They do not like to have their rhizomes buried too deep-just barely in the dirt. Iris do need to be thinned out about every 3-5 years depending upon the growth habit. Iris do well with most every other sun loving plant like Black eyed Susans, Coreopsis, Daylilies, Coneflowers, etc.
