You and your kids love colored mushrooms, but consider them too dangerous to grow them in your backyard? Here's an easy fix: DIY them.
This project is very easy to make, and the kids will love to join and help, for sure!
This project is very easy to make, and the kids will love to join and help, for sure!
First, get a nice round plastic or metal bowl for the cap of the mushroom. I wanted my mushrooms to be red, so I bought two nice plastic bowl 11 in. diameter. Get a nice straight wood log for the stalk, and a set of white adhesive dots.
Second, clean the bowl on the outside, so the dots could easily glue on the surface. Place the dots here and there randomly on the bowl for a natural look of the cap.
Make a hole on the top of the cap, then fix the cap on the log with a screw. Be careful not to tighten too much the screw or you'll brake the plastic bowl in the process.
Find a spot in your backyard to place your mushroom, and moist the soil to ease the "planting".
