IKEA Tarva Dresser Transformed Into a Kitchen Sideboard

I've been looking for the perfect storage space to put in our kitchen and behind our couch, and I've finally found it with this IKEA TARVA dresser! I chopped the legs off to lower it to couch height, changed out the pulls to long stainless steel kitchen pulls, and finished with an ivory milk paint bottom and espresso stained top. It's gorgeous, functional, and a great conversation piece!

Trudy Nc on Dec 15, 2014Shanna, Beautiful design and a great inspiration to me. Have an old dresser sitting in the shed that will be perfect to use your technique on! C'mon Spring! ;)

Nick Deming on Mar 19, 2015Wow! I love what you did with this piece. We live in Germany so we have no real storage. We needed something for storage and a place for our microwave. We had an IKEA Malm 3-drawer unit in birch and also purchased the big kitchen work table in birch. You are so right. Adding matching handles to the dresser all sudden transformed it into a kitchen unit. Perfect place for kitchen towels and table linens. IKEA rocks!
