SUNNY SUNFLOWERS

The August garden is my favorite season for my backyard flowers. Everything turns bright and sunny with the black eyed susan's in bloom and my annual sunflowers standing tall.
Sunflowers are lovely in the garden and on your table in a vase or pitcher. They are also wonderful for attracting birds, butterflies and bees to your garden. Do you grow sunflowers in your garden?
Today, I've selected some of my favorite sunflowers from my cutting garden to share with you! Enjoy! Happy Growing! Deb

Catherine on Aug 16, 2013I grew a variety of sunflowers this summer. Wow! I have one that stands about 12 foot! The unfortunate thing is a planted it very close to my back door not knowing it would grow so large (husband not so thrilled with that but impressed it is so large)! In the center of my sunflower garden is a hummingbird feeder, and boy do they LOVE the sunflowers! Not only do the feed from them but they also perch beneath the large leaves almost like they are 'stalking' the other hummers. Very entertaining!

Lauren of Mom Home Guide on Aug 01, 2014Love your beautiful sunflowers! I have several mammoth sunflowers that should bloom soon! I can't wait! My sunflowers were so beautiful last year, but I only had 2. I think I will have at least 10 of them this year! Mine are all the same shade, though. I love how you have multiple shades of color in your sunflowers!
