Ugly Silverplated Box Transformation

This box I came across at a sale had been neglected and was stained and da,aged beyond salvaging. I tried silver cleaning paste to no avail. I put it away and knew that eventually I would do something with it.
Here's another look. The inside is lined in wood, but didn't look that great either.
I decided I wanted to make it look old and decided to decoupage with a pretty napkin.
But first I spray painted it brown.
I used Saran Wrap to allow myself to make sure the, napkin stuck and also texturizing it as I went.
I kept on layering the mod Podge unti I achieved the aged look i wanted. I cut the napkin edge and used it all around the top lid.
Found some foam laying around and cut it to fit and made slits on it so I could put my husband's cufflinks in it.
Or it could hold earrings that I don't use as often!

Wow! I wish I'd seen this sooner, I decoupaged an old bench with patterned tissue paper, but it's coming away in some spots... I'll keep your wrap tip in mind when I redo it! Your box looks lovely, by the way!
