Carrie from Thirty Eighth Street created this beautiful grey by mixing a couple of her favorite Country Chic Paint colors. Can you guess her recipe?
Hi Friends! Do you gravitate towards grey furniture? I sure do! Today, I’m excited to show you how we warmed up a chest of drawers by mixing a few Country Chic Paint colors together.
I wanted a really warm dark grey color for this piece so I applied Dark Roast for my first coat. Dark Roast is such a great base color. Should I have wanted to wet distress this piece, I would see the dark brown/grey color peak through instead of the honey color.
Once Dark Roast was completely dry, I mixed 1 part Dark Roast with 2 parts Nocturnal and created a really rich grey hue with green undertones. I changed out the hardware and took some detailing off of the middle door to simplify the piece. Then after 24 hours, I applied 2 coats of Tough Coat.
I had such a great time playing with colors and mixing paint for this makeover! A little bit of paint and some new hardware really changed the look of this dresser!
Enjoyed the project?
