One of the ways I save money is to make my own toothpaste. I’ll show you how to make your own toothpaste.
If you search online for household products you can make at home, You are sure to find a lot. In fact, I even put together 18 household products you can make at home. DIY toothpaste is number 2 in the list. I don’t use it all of the time, but I like to switch it out every now and then my store bought toothpaste. I am more concerned now with the chemicals I use. When I make use my DIY toothpaste, I know exactly what is in it.

For this DIY toothpaste, you’ll need some baking soda, coconut oil, mint oil, and optional sweetener like Stevia of Xylitol.
In a jar or container, combine ½ cup softened coconut oil with 3 tablespoons of baking soda, 20 drops of mint oil, and optional sweetener such as stevia or xylitol.
The cost of making your own big jar of toothpaste is around $1.32. Not too shabby!
You can play around with the ingredients and add more or different flavors to your liking. You can also try using different sweeteners.
