A cute home decor craft that is fun to do with the kids that you can actually display in your home.
First, we went on a nature hunt in our very own backyard. We gathered thin, bendable branches and long dried grass.
I bunched them together and wrapped floral wire around them to make a long strand.
First, we went on a nature hunt in our very own backyard. We gathered thin, bendable branches and long dried grass.
I bunched them together and wrapped floral wire around them to make a long strand.
Next, I coiled the long tuft of branches and grass around to make a nest shape. To tie and secure the branches, I used floral wire.
We placed the nest on a bed of moss (bought from a craft store) in the bottom of the server and placed some faux eggs inside.
Then, we made some simple decorative butterfly picks.
I found some vintage art from an antique butterfly book and printed some pages out in mirror image to make two sides to each butterfly.
I made the art for you as a PDF here if you want to use the same ones I did! —> Butterfly Picks Art
After we cut out the butterflies and various lengths of floral wire, we glued the front and backs of the butterflies to the floral wire with a glue gun.
We secured the butterfly picks into the sides of the nest, and decorated with some silk flowers.
Place the glass lid on the cloche. You can add some personal touches like some ribbon and/or antique pieces to the lids handle.
