How to easily make this PVC backyard Cooler Stand
Check out this short how to video to see just how easy it is to build this durable backyard cooler stand. We used PVC fence post and a couple 2x4s to create this backyard DIY project.
Start with PVC fence post. We got ours from Home Depot but basically for the purpose of this project they are all the same. You will need to cut them so you end up with four the same height. Note the uprights will come about 1/2 way up the cooler.
We used a chop saw to cut the uprights but a circular saw or even a jig saw would work.
Cut a notch out of the upright as shown. We used a jig saw. The height of the bottom edge will be what the cooler sits on. Note I also cut the PVC post caps in half to match. These will be glued in place later with a little silicone.
We then have to add an additional notch onto each upright. This notch will be to fit the 2x4 frame. I basically placed a small pc of 2x4 onto the upright and traced the notch. The notch should allow the 2x4 to sit flush and I left the back and side edges of the pvc in place so they actually hide the 2x4. Note: you will need 2 Right side uprights with notches and 2 Left side uprights with notches.
Build a simple 2x4 frame. The two side rails will slide into the notches cut into the PVC uprights.
We bought the matching PVC post molding. These really give a nice finished look to the project.
Here is a closer look at how the 2x4 rails sit in the notch of the pvc upright.
I used a little exterior white paint to coat the 2x4's
Finished product is a stylish DIY cooler stand that will enhance any backyards decor.
Be sure to watch our short how to video. It details very quickly evert aspect of the build. If you like the video please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my DIY youtube channel.

I love your style!! I don’t use a cooler much anymore but I was thinking about doing this and looking for a cooler at a yard sale or thrift shop. Spray paint the cooler to make it look new, and planting flowers in it! It would make weeding the flowers so much easier!!
