Kitchen Pantry Doors Mural

My daughter wanted her Pantry doors spruced-up. She gave me an idea and this is the result. These doors can be seen from the family room and were screaming for some personality.
This is the area called the Breakfast nook was BORING.
Prepped. The cabinets are wood, not laminate. So it was easy to paint
I tapped off the framing,
Painted the back ground of each pane. I wish the pics showed the colors better. The back ground color is a deep plum color.
Chalked in the designs and then started painting with leftover latex wall paint.
Sealed the entire doors with water based Polyurethane, many coats. outlined with black permanent marker.
Here it is.
I used a Sharpie Permanent marker to outline.

Turned out well. The mural brightens up the area. I also painted the table top.

What a great idea and good artist.
The bottom section of cabinets is that blackboard paint?
Just wondering, If not could be used for Kids I suppose.

this is so elegant looking, why would you want to junk it up with a blackboard?

I love the artwork and I think it's clever and beautiful. I too wondered if the bottom was chalk paint. I have small grandchildren and thought it might be a great way to keep them entertained, easily cleaned when 'not in use.'

What happened with the panels below the painted panels?

What do you mean? All the panels are painted. The bottom is darker than the top. The picture doesn't show that the bottom and top are a purple black. Got the idea from a picture .

I think that Carol is asking if you were going to paint a mural on the bottom panel, too. I think it looks dramatic & stunning the way it is. Painting the bottom panels would be "overkill" and too much.

Beside beautiful and jealous of your art talent, from the pictures it seems like if the bottom panels were a lighter color it would look better? But again this is looking at it with a computer. Awesome job

Would love to have the cabinet space! How deep are they? Are they built-ins or added later and/or where did you get them, if added? Need ideas for storage and/or shelving for re-purposed utility room.

    Thanks. Great job!! Viewed 7/31/18.

Where did you get the idea for the pictures or did you just draw them yourself?

Pinterest.. My daughter looked through pictures of wine bottles and choose a couple styles and I choose this one . Tested it out on some canvas to see if she liked it. Not an original idea.
