I'm a huge sucker for a pretty wreath! I clipped an article out of a Southern Living magazine over a year ago of a beautiful garden pot wreath! I decided to finally recreate it and I'm thrilled with how it turned out!
I hit the mother load the other day at Dollar Tree and found 3 for $1. I picked up about 10 sets. For this project, I used 21 of the terra cotta pots. The base of the wreath is an 18 inch grapevine wreath that I picked up from Jo Ann's. While there, grab some floral wire, moss, white paint, wax or sealer and a sponge brush. If you want to recreate the moss look, you may want to grab some green craft paint too.
I had patio paint that I had from a previous project, I love it because it dries really quick! Before I began painting, I grabbed a cup of water to dilute the white paint. This gives the texture a more weathered appearance than simply painted. Once the pots were dry, I added a white wax to seal them.
Using your floral wire, begin rearranging the pots in different positions. I wanted it to look a little different and not so uniform, so I did an inconsistent pattern. Because my wire was green and quite noticeable, I hot glued moss into the tops and bottoms of the pots. I really feel that this gave the wreath the perfect finishing touch!!
I love how it turned out!! It's the perfect fit for my front door! I love working in the garden and yard and I feel like that's what this encompasses! Perfect for Spring!
