My father-in-law is an avid guitar player, and as such, he has many guitars in his house. So, as a gift, I decided to create some guitar hangers so he could display some of his instruments!
Here are the abbreviated instructions for how I created these. For full details and additional pictures, please visit my blog at the link at the bottom of this post.

To make these, I printed a picture of an outline of a guitar pick that I had expanded to the size I wanted.
I then traced the image onto plywood.
I then cut the traced pieces out using a jig saw, and sanded and stained the boards with a Dark Walnut stain.

While the stain dried, I printed out pictures of images I wanted to create on the wood pick-shaped boards.
I traced those images onto the boards and then painted in the traced images.
I then coated all boards with three coats of polyurethane, letting each coat dry between applications.

I installed the guitar hangers on each board and Ta-da! Done!
These make great gifts that are quick, easy, and inexpensive to build!
