Room Divider Given a Feminine Vintage Look

With my craft room looking out onto the street I needed abit of privacy especially for when working at night and having the garage doors open, Idecided to incorporate a room divider. I was able to source a cane room divider with material inserts. I found the material was abit heavy and blocked out the light so decided it needed abit of "me" in it. The green also didn't appeal to me.
I was was lucky to find a 5 division, which allowed me to place 3 on the door side and the other 2 to "corden off" my area, and block off the garden tools.
My first step was to clean the cane and lightly sand it as it was very smooth. I chose aged white chalk paint.
After painting the frame, it looked too new so I used a fine gritt sandpaper sponge to age it. I wet the sandpaper which worked easier in removing areas of the chalk paint.
I was looking for a vintage look, so used soft light materials and handkerchiefs. I also added in bits of material tea bags with saying on.
I sewed different materials together, and used 9 handerkerchiefs per insert. I inserted a dowel rod to give the inserts shape. I sewed lace onto the inserts to tie them onto the frame.
This is the end result. I didnt put a backing on so that the light can still shine through, but the material can also be seen from both sides. It gives me the needed privacy without shutting out the light.
I love the end product. Its finished off my craft room and makes me smile everytime I walk past it. It's allowed me to complete the space where I now store all my crafts materials and can create whenever the creative bug bites.
