Renter's Backsplash With Wood Tiles

I finally tackled a backsplash that I can remove if I get tired of it!
I cut the pieces to size and then applied the wood tiles and Glaze Coat epoxy resin outside. Afterward I used heavy duty double stick tape to adhere it to the wall.

When you cover it after glazing to let it cure, is the wood cover touching the backsplash or just placed an inch or less near it??
