DIY Valentine Heart

A long, long time ago, I posted about this DIY heart. That was way before I knew about editing pictures or taking pictures of the process of a project. Looking back at it, I thought I should repost about it because it was so easy to make and it makes such a huge impact for Valentine’s Day.
To make this huge heart, all I did was draw a heart (2′ wide and 2.5′ long) on a piece of wood. Hubby cut it out with a jigsaw. Then, I painted the heart red. Hubby drilled holes all around the parameter of the heart and I strung red and white polka dot ribbon through the holes. I tied a bow at the top of the heart.
I used a red and white striped ribbon on the back of the heart to hang it.
We made this heart three years ago and I still love it today! It is the first thing I put up each year for Valentine’s Day. This year, it will get a new paint job before I put it away so it is fresh and ready to go next year.
