You could hang a bamboo shade from the ceiling of the porch. You could purchase wood shutters, hinge them together. Stand them up and you've got an instant wall. You could make a wall out of lattice and plant a shade loving vine in pots to grow up the lattice to create a wall of greenery. That's all I got. Hope it gives you some direction.
Ditto! You could also make a curtain with a flat sheet or dropcloth.
Best of all I like the idea of lattice which would be rigid and "permanently" fixed to floor and ceiling. If choose a lattice with small square openings and grow something against it, both you and your neighbor will have a win-win.
