Are you going crazy for marble? I am! I wanted a cute tray for me and my son when we have breakfast in bed or when we have a movie night at home.
I saw these wooden trays over at Micheals Craft Store and wasn't sure if I was going to buy it until I realize there are two sizes. Perfect! The larger one for me and the smaller one for my son.
I choose a dark walnut. This is the first time that I am using this type of stain and this brand (Varathane) claims to be fast drying and drip free which is perfect for this small project. I applied it on with a rag and rubbed the stain on. Then I let it dry for 5 minutes. I had to repeat this a couple of times to get the dark to show through.
Next, I used white craft paint by Craft Smart to the sides of the tray and let it dry for 5 minutes.
I bought adhesive marble paper from the dollar store for only $2.00.
Take the backing off and place it on the top of the tray.
Then smooth out the air bubbles.
All done!
