This gorgeous mahogany serpentine dresser got an amazing makeover using Heirloom Traditions All in One Chalky Style Paint in Cobblestone and Manor House White. Wet distressing and weathered wood Antiquing Gel gave this piece an elegant, and chic update for modern day!
This stunning dresser was in solid shape but needed a bit of cosmetic work on the fronts of the drawers so I decided to use one of my favorite paints to give it a total makeover!
HTP All in One Paint is great because it has a primer, paint and wax all built in! I prepped this piece by cleaning very well and then sanding a bit. Then I started with a couple of coats of Manor House.
After that dried a few hours, I painted a few coats of Cobblestone . I wet distressed the paint using a spray bottle of water and a wet and dry rag and some 220 grit sandpaper.
I let some of the Manor House show through and the wood underneath as well. After letting it dry fully, I applied the Weathered Antiquing Gel and some gold wax on the edges.
It's such a soft, elegant finish now. I love it!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
This is beautiful. But what is "wet distressing"?
This is lovely and well done. My question is about the Heirloom paint. Did I understand this correctly--it is all inclusive with the wax as well? I have shied away from chalk paint because I don't want to wax which I think would make any refinishing a pain to do over. But now THIS paint would be worth a try for sure.
This is beautiful. Is there a reason you didn't clean and polish the drawer pulls? Just asking, I'm a newbie and sometimes I don't understand everything. Thank you.
