What to Do With the Leftover Wood From a Project or Two?

Well that is a good question, right!
Hi there Hometalkers, this might be the answer for at least some of that extra wood you have lying around after a project. I know I'm not the only one out there with piles of scrap pieces of wood. I have made several things out of those pieces, so when I finished a couple of projects recently and the wood was on the ground , I saw letters and instantly thought... "oh I could spell a word or Oooo I could make my initials !"
This is what I made...
It was getting dark out and I really wanted to put this together that night!
Get 'er done!
I didn't have to cut any of the wood just find the pieces I wanted to use and that would fit right. Not all of the recent cuts worked so I went to my other piles (small pieces of scrap wood I keep in buckets).
Once I had all the right pieces together to make my letters, I used wood screws to drill right into the wood. No starter holes needed or sinking the screw just straight into the wood.
There they are put together.
There is one of the buckets I use to keep smaller leftovers. That's one of the 2x4 buckets I have. I'm a very neat and organized person even my scrap is put up in a certain way! Yep, I know I'm weird but I don't have to dig or search all over when I need something. I didn't use any kind of hangers on the back these because I'm not sure if I will keep them on the wall. I might put them in the bookcase, on a counter or somewhere else. Not sure yet.
Painted and hung! They are a good size,I could also use them as little shelves too!
I'm making the word HOME next for me and another set of initials for someone else in a week or two! Just a quick project or two to add to my list! I just love to DIY!
Well, I love all comments and thanks for looking at my little project!
out!
Enjoyed the project?

Thanks Trace! I really don't need any more scrap wood piles. I have 6 buckets full of little pieces, one of the rooms in the house is full of lumber to use on the house along with 3 more piles of bigger pieces of scrap wood in another room. I need to get more resourceful and come up with more great ideas!
