Creepy Skeleton Candle Holders

I haven't done a dollar store project in a while, so Halloween sounded like it would be a great time to do one! I went with a skeleton theme, which would also work great for a pirate party.

Here are the highlights:
Start with items from the dollar store - I have candleholders, votives, plastic skeletons, a dark mesh fabric, glue and red nail polish.
Start by painting some nail polish on the inside of the top of the candleholder - you are going for a smeared blood look.
Once dry - glue the votive on top of the candleholder.
Now start dripping the nail polish down the side of the votive.
Keep dripping...
Add some to the bottom of the base and let it all dry. Then you want to gather your little skeletons.
Then take your gauzy fabric and glue it to the stem.
Tie and glue your skeletons to the base.
Add plastic bones from a larger plastic skeleton and add the battery operated tea light.
Now light it up...
