I made these boutonnieres for the wedding of the daughter of a friend of mine who did not want to use flowers but something more unique and permanent.
I bought burlap fabric in an off white color. I proceeded to cutout leaf shapes from some cardboard boxes. I cut the burlap to fit the leaf shape and I glued it to the cardboard. Each boutonniere took two leaves. I had small round sticks that I covered in ribbon and glued between the 2 leaves. I bought small feathers in complementary colors to the wedding colors and glued them to the leaf in the front with some buttons from my button stash and a added a small bow to the bottom of the leaf. I'm sorry I did not take pictures as I went along with for each step as this was a while back. I made the groom's slightly diferent by using a cream colored ribbon for the bow and the rest had the color of the bridesmaids.
I added stictching to the ribbon to create some interest.
Here you can see all of them. I think they looked really cute and the bride was super pleased.
