This old vintage vanity was given to me by my brother in law. It was very cheap wood and didn't go with my decor. So I decided to give it a little makeover and turned it into a birdbath.
It was a nice sunny day to start experimenting. First I cleaned it up. You can use a wet rag.
Then I went to painting it, the fun part!
I used paint sample for this one, the only color I had mixed for myself was the mustard yellow. I was not such a fan of the purple, but I used it anyway. The birds will love it!
Here is a close up. I just played with the colors I had. As you can see I used all the colors and laid each one down until I liked what I saw. I had everything here except the mustard color. Be sure to let dry. I used a fan.
I then brushed on a top coat of polyurethane. Let that dry as well! It really brightens up the yard. I can sit and hopefully see some birds bathing.
I had a plant dying inside and realized it was a morning glory. So maybe it will decide to climb up the wood. I think the flowers will add a. Ice touch.
