So we had a challenge using lights...so I started by looking through my goodwill finds and my crafting stash and yes Christmas stuff came across this ventage basket that is made of wrought iron and was picked up at an estate sale for only 3$
So I started going through my Christmas stash and found some ornaments that I was not using... they had jump rings at the top so that was a plus I was able to slip them on the basket spacing them out between the basket and alternating them at the bottom of the basket and the middle...
I use the same size ornaments in the middle and on the bottom and some slightly smaller ones at the top of the basket...18 on bottom 18 for the middle 18 on top and I'm sure it will depend on what size basket you use my was 11" tall 14"wide
The small ornament did not come with a jump ring so I just tied it with the Silver Thread that was with it these were tied to the top of the basket...
I went to my local hardware store and found this cute hanging ornament with battery operated lights ( which was included and on sale) was perfect to bring my chandelier to life
Going through my Goodwill finds I came across this tablecloth that I cut into 2 54"strips is was the length of the tablecloth
I tied one end of the tablecloth to the bottom of basket and twisted it and tied it to the opposite side...doing the same on the other side too...
So here is my shabby chic Chandelier... you can change out the way you hang it with anything you like... rope, ribbon, chains I could keep going
Good for indoors or outdoors you can even set it up right and put it on a table

Have a question about this project?
How do you change the battery after its hung?
I'd like to know where you get the crystals!!
It is gorgeous lookin' with all the crystals hangin', but instead of KNOTS to hold it, can't you make Nice, neatly loops?
