This quick and easy rag wreath is a perfect DIY project to use up old scraps of material, worn out dishcloths, even tattered and old pillowcases. With just a few easy steps I am going to show you how you can to turn your pieces of leftover fabric into a charming wreath.
I have several baskets of leftover fabric from earlier crafting projects and I was pretty much tired of having them sitting around! So in an effort to consolidate and clean out my craft closet I had this idea of turning those scraps into a worthwhile and pretty wreath project. (I love making wreaths!)
Now keep in mind this wreath can be made for any Holiday or occasion!
Before I could begin this project I needed a wreath form of some kind to attach the pieces of fabric on.
I decide to make my own wreath form with materials that I had on hand in my craft room.
Here is how I made the wire form!
Taking some medium gage wire, shaping it, and cutting it, a wire wreath form was born.
DIRECTIONS FOR ASSEMBLING RAG WREATH
Taking the leftover scraps of material, wire, pinking shears, glitter, spray adhesive, ribbon, I proceeded to make this Valentine wreath.
*Step One: Cut Fabric approximately in to 1x7" pieces (You will need 250 pieces of fabric to make a 12 x12" heart wreath.
*Step Two: Tie the fabric around the wire wreath, alternating fabrics.
*Step Three: After all of the fabric is tied onto the wreath form spray with fabric adhesive.
*Step Four: Sprinkle glitter all over fabric.
*Step Five: Add ribbon to wreath by gluing with fabric glue or attach with fabric adhesive.
