Stenciling is a chic way to update and add pizzazz to your home decor but did you know that you can create custom stencils with your Cricut machine? Say what? Yes. With your Cricut you can cut almost anything but many folks chose to use vinyl. Although vinyl is a great choice for many projects it can get costly after awhile. Contact paper is a perfect and affordable solution for creating custom stencils. If you would like to use your stencil repeatedly I recommend investing in stencil vinyl. Just cut out your design on your Cricut using the vinyl setting, adhere to your surface, and paint away!

Quick story of a crafting fail. Years ago I hacked my ikea table to paint the lyrics “It Was All A Dream…” on it. I loved it! Fast forward a few months ago I was cleaning my microfiber couch and I accidentally spilled rubbing alcohol on the table! This was Isopropyl Alcohol 91% the strong stuff, it literally peeled the paint AND the varnish off. EEK! No worries. I was revamping my living room anyway. Using a stencil instead of hand lettering gave my table a new look but same quote.
