Over the course of the last year, I have painted all the trim in the upstairs of our house white. It sure has made for some spectacular before and afters! Next it was time to tackle the entryway. We live in a bi-level home so the entryway is just a foyer and two sets of stairs (one going up and one down).

The first thing I tackled was the balustrade. I removed the old oak stair railing and built a more modern version, recovering the newel post. See how I redid the stair railing here.

The rest of this space I planned to tackle with paint. I painted my front door this bright, beautiful teal so I planned to repeat that color on the inside.

The other door in the entryway leads to our garage. I decided to paint this door black to hide dirt on both the inside and outside. This is a view from inside the garage...

As for the closet doors, I planned to just remove them and leave them off. They are always open anyway and with them removed, it makes the small entrance space seem larger.

With the closet doors removed, the garage door painted black, and the front door painted teal, all that was left was trim. After a week, I successfully painted all the trim in this space white (doorways are very tedious!). This is how my entryway looks now...
