This aged door is my daughter's room entrance, but as you can see it is old and not very nice. Other doors in my house is made of solid wood and very much renovate-able in many ways such re-painting except this one. icon

When I saw this door first time, I was very surprised with its lightness. Actually this door is made of 2 thin - thin as cardboard - plywood board, nothing inside but the air and wallpaper on surface.
Replacing the door itself is still my first choice of all since it has no durability at all, but I haven't been able to find the one fit under my budget either.icon

It has been a little bit of headache for me and my daughter who loves colorful nice thing, this is how we made the door look nicer.
This is BEFORE photo of the problem door. White wallpaper seems started peeling by aging.
Step 1. Have fabric pieces ready with glue.

Since we wanted lots of colors on the entrance, we choose many warm colorful cloths. Each of them is cut in same size this time.
I think the choice is yours to cut it in any different sizes, reason I cut them in same size is that it is simply easy to place them without too much overlap each other.
Step 2. Start placing the fabric pieces from corner.

I start from corner, choosing fun color and textile that looks nice together.

The choice of glue is either woodworking glue or ones for wallpaper. Since I use this woodworking glue in various ways, I have purchased the big bottle so is my first choice.

Put some portions of glue on surface and try spread it equally. Using cardboard makes this process easier.
Step 3. Repeat Step 2 till fabrics covers the door fully.

One idea is to limit the colors and patterns so that the entire look would have little more modern taste. In our case, this is my daughter's room and when I asked her what color she wants, her response was "Bright and many colors!" So it turned out...
Step 4. Completion!

This is how it turned out.
Red, pink, yellow, rabbits, flowers and light blue plaid...
It all mixed and looks very much like my daughter's place. Finally.
I also added the unicorn picture that my daughter loves.
Since this door is empty inside anyway, it is also fine for her to put anything she likes push as stickers, postcards so on.

Eventually this door will be replaced with real wood one, but it will be fun spot to decorate for her.

Thank you for reading.
