Sea Glass Inspired Lamp Shade!

With the very chilly spring we've had here in the deep south, I'm finding myself dreaming of all-things sand and sea! The other day I was brainstorming a summer project using sea glass when the idea for this lampshade popped into my head! It's beautiful in the evening and honestly it's not difficult to make! Got a minute? If so, I can show you how! xo
I love the soft color of sea glass, which is what inspired my little lamp shade...
I used a cheap piece of fabric and taped it to a plastic covered canvas. Using watered down acrylics, I dabbed the color onto the fabric, adding water if it was too bold to get that washed effect. Let it dry & then iron it out!
Use hot glue and double sided bias tape to finish off the shade!
The hardest part about this was waiting for the fabric to dry! Thanks for hanging out with me my friends xo
Enjoyed the project?

Pat whitmus on Feb 03, 2017As a painter this would be a fun project for me. Will have to look at my lampshades when I get home to see if one of them would be improved with this technique! Thanks for a new crafty idea!
