Hi, my sweet friends!!
Welcome to another Thrift Store Challenge! Yes, it is that time again when a group of bloggers teams up together to share our crafts and decor out of thrift store finds. Who said that making your house pretty means spend a lot of money on home decor? In fact, I really like DIYing the things I found on the curbside or at the thrift store the most. So these monthly series are great because I am also inspired by the creations of my fellow bloggers.
Look at my find this month…
It’s a footboard!! Isn’t it pretty? I mean, it is not pretty right now but it’s pretty in spirit, you know what I mean.
The white lines are not only painted but carved in the wood.
The first time I saw it I had a light bulb moment, can you guess what I was thinking? If you said a bench then you are wrong 😉 I know you all know how much I love benches, like the romantic bench I did from some free finds, and the twin benches I did for a front beach apartment.
But this was a footboard which means it is shorter than a headboard so… what about a coat rack from an old footboard?
Yeeessss!!
The first thing I did was get rid of the chunky round bottoms. I place it on my table saw and cut those babies out. I took a piece of scrap wood I had, cut to fit and add some screws to the back.
I have the detailed how-to and the products I used on my blog, including some useful links to the techniques I use too. You will find the link at the bottom.
Don't you think it is beautiful?
I am really proud of how nice it turned out.
Enjoyed the project?
