I found these on Listia(an online auction site). These were gold/brass & ugly. I thought I'd beautify them & make them useful at the same time. I had already upcycled one set in a similar way, so here is how I did these 4. It's a really simple & cheap project, with products I had on hand, other than the solar lights-
Here is how they looked originally-ugly, paint chipped, dirty brass/gold color.
I tend to use funky brushes so I can mush the paint in & get a really distressed look.
My base coat was with Art Minds Outdoor in pewter.
After that was dry, on one set I used Art Minds Metallics aquamarine.
On the other set, I used Art Minds Metallics turquoise.
Once the paint was all dry, I attached the lights with the outdoor silicone.
Here are the outdoor lights, with the pole removed.
Here is the set with turquoise paint- not sure why one came out slightly darker. But they still look awesome!
Here are the aquamarine set, both before I added the lights.
Here is a 3rd set I did, with chalk paint & silver wax. This gives you an idea of the finished product, ready to hang outside.
