Creating a Gallery Wall
We have recently moved into a new house and are just getting around to hanging pictures. These bird pictures look like pen and ink drawings but they are actually machine embroidered onto watercolor paper.
They are my favorite collection of prints and I didn't think I had a place for them. Then one day I was in my kitchen, looked across to the stairwell and noticed the triangular shape on the wall.
I immediately thought of my bird collection and how this would look great. It didn't hurt that it was a black and white collection since black and white are the main colors in my house.

First, there was the big, blank wall that screamed at me to add something.
The worst thing that can happen with a gallery wall is to set it up wrong. We measured and then taped the area off on the kitchen floor. Then we layer everything out on the floor.
I also added double-sided tape to the back of the frames because it is a stair wall and the photos could get crooked really fast. This seams to be holding well.

So beautiful and unique! I have been wanting to incorporate a bird motif into my home for years and never got around to it, and I think you helped me decide that now is the time - I'm going to have to steal ... uh ... borrow LOL ... this idea for my living room! I really love how you used the larger frame with the matting to balance out the selection, fill in the wall space, and also to add interest so that it's not completely uniform. The black frames and the black and white prints just add to the beauty of the whole thing. Wonderful job. PINNED! EDIT: Forgot to mention that I also LOVE the great tip about using double-sided tape to keep the pictures straight. Now I will never have to worry about straightening pictures again, thanks to you! :)
