DIY Cupcake Stands

I love individual cupcake stands. I just think they are so cute. I wanted to make my own so I searched out some great budget friendly products to make it happen.
I found these glass candle holders at Hobby Lobby and they all happened to be half price. I think the round flat pieces were $1.50 on sale, the votive holder was .50 and the taper holder was either .50 or .75.
I used a green and a blue spray paint to paint the base pieces. I sprayed two light coats, then turned them over and sprayed two more light coats. When they were completely dry I distressed them using a sanding block.

If you would rather not paint the bases I found a ton of really pretty votive holders in the same section at Hobby Lobby that are already colored glass. That would save even more time. Just glue and go!
E6000 adhesive is perfect for adhering the glass top to the painted bottom pieces. I placed the glue onto the rim of base then centered the top piece on. I let these dry overnight.

Once they were completely dry they were ready to go.
I love they way they turned out and the different sized bases make for a fun display of cupcakes.
I want to make about 8 more so I have enough for family parties. We have a small family. They are so easy and just took one day to make.
They should be hand washed and I would probably always have a cupcake wrapper or a doily so they don't get too covered in cupcake. A light washing is best.

I think they are super cute and can't wait to get the rest done. If you like these then you will probably like many of my blog projects. I would love for you to sign up for my email/newsletter. It goes out once per week and includes projects from my blog and sometimes some great products that I think you will love.

Thanks for reading and happy crafting
