A New Look for My Master Bedroom!

I drooled over a rug on Amazon for MONTHS before I finally decided to spoil myself by buying it! With a new rug, two “new” lamps and a new comforter it was WAY beyond time to share with you my newest decor refresh of my master bedroom!

(Here's the BEFORE picture of the room before I even started the renovation!)

(Here's the floor plan of how the room looked before my big renovation of the whole house!)

As most of you know I got divorced recently so one of the first places I “took back” was my master. With all of the black already going on with my furniture it seemed time to lighten the room up with a new comforter. Out with the old and in with the new! I took my old black comforter to my local thrift store (it wasn’t that I didn’t love it it just held too many bad memories for me.) I added that pretty gray comforter to my wishlist and my mom gave it to me for my birthday. “Thanks, Mom!”

I spread my clothes out into my extra closet and dresser, cleaned the room from top to bottom, bought myself some new sheets, and, truly, I felt like I had a whole new bedroom. (I read somewhere online about how awesome white sheets are and, ya know what? They really do make me feel like I’m in a hotel suite!)

By some sort of miracle I have still managed to keep all of my plants alive in  the hanging flower boxes I built last year and they’ve all gotten so big. I’m going to be adding even more plants with the addition of a few in my bathroom too. With how long our northern MN winters are I can tell you that they really do help with the winter blues.

I brought up  my black rocker that I transformed last year and then it dawned on me that I really needed to figure out a better lamp situation.

A trip to the thrift store and I had my answer! Hard to believe I spent less then ten dollars on those two lamps. Some spray paint and new shades later and I absolutely love them!
