Adding a Little Something to an Old Lamp
Old Lamp made New again with Tumbtacks
I’ve had these lamps for about 30 years. They were originally metallic brown. They have been white, Crimson (went to college with my daughter at Alabama “Roll Tide”), hot pink, Gold and now silver.
I really like the nailhead look, but didn’t want to pay much on these old lamps. So Thumbtacks!
I’m sure it would have been better to use a pencil line to mark where to push the tumbtacks to make it perfect. I am not a perfectionist
I hammered down all the points and then covered with hot glue.
BE CAREFUL! I got my finger. A little white paint will cover that I hope.
About an hour later, and a new shade makes a more modern lamp.

Wow my lamp shade is similar to yours. My original shades we're gold. But my old place, my landlady had a guy she found on the street corner do her handy man work. Painting the hallway was one such jobs. He didn't lay down any protection and got paint on the shades. I recently moved and bought new shades. The lamp is similar to yours. I want to paint mine. It's brown. The walls are grey the accent furniture is black. My couch is green.
