This old solar light needed work to get it going again. While I was at it I decided to give it a whole new look. I loved the look of the base but the crackled ball at the top did not provide enough light.
Step one was to remove the globe. I got it off without breaking it so I gave it new home in my garden.
It looks beautiful among my plants in a repurposed planter.
The next step was to give the base a quick once over with a chalky white paint. I let some of the grey show through to give it a distressed look without sanding. I didn't paint the entire thing, I quickly brushed over the grey color.
I attached a vintage insulator in a beautiful light blue color to the top with E6000 glue and this solar light got a whole new life. I love the look of the insulator and am so glad I was able to repurpose it!

Can't wait to try this, I have several glass insulators and have been looking for someplace to put them!
