Free Mulch, Cardboard and Newspaper! + Alot of Labor Equals a Garden!

It all started when we watched this video called "Back to Eden" and even though we knew it would take many years to have beautiful rich soil for our garden we had to give it a go! There's No Tilling, Less Watering, Minimal Weeding, No Fertilizing and Less Insect Problems and afterall, we got it for Free! We went a little further by fenceing it in to keep out the critters so there was some cost involved. We bought PT landscape timbers, T- post, concrete mix, stock panels, a gate and chicken wire. But if you live in a somewhat protected environment in the city you can do this for very little cost!
Check out your local counties recycling center, or find the nearest one available. We had to drive a little to get ours but had a great lunch along the way and we can get as much as we want! They even had the cardboard we needed!
This system will work, have patience and soon you will have garden soil gold loaded with worms and minerals! Plant your vegetables and fruit and enjoy!
Visit my blog for more details and start your Garden today! What are you waiting for?

Mitziblueyes on Jun 09, 2014Wow!!! Definitely trying this! I've been using newspaper, was told the ink was good for stopping weeds, I think I need to use more and try the cardboard too! A great resource for papers is a local newspaper. I work for one and our "trash bin" is a giant recycling containing full of nothing but papers! Thanks for the tip!
