Book Page Pumpkin
Turn an Old Book into Fall Decor
We have a lot of books at our house. Because I homeschool one of my kids I also have quite a few old textbooks as well. While you could use any sized book for this project, I chose a textbook to create a larger finished book page pumpkin. If you don't have old textbooks lying around feel free to choose a paperback or any other size book. Remember, the larger the book, the larger your finished pumpkin.
You will want a sharp craft knife for this project. The longest part of the project is cutting the book! Time depends on the size of the book you choose. Larger books will take a longer time to carve.
You will need to use your craft knife to cut through all the pages in your book to create the shape for your finished pumpkin. Once it is all cut out you can paint the edges of the book pages to create a more 'pumpkin' look.
Use a pipe cleaner and some sticks to create a stem and vines! Visit Julie Measures for more project details.

This is a very time consuming project. If you have the time & patience cutting the pages, to match each other perfectly? Then, go for it! It's a creative way, to make something old, new again. 😉

The pages definitely don't have to be perfect! If they are a little uneven it just adds to the fun shape of the pumpkin :)

I like the idea ! But how exactly do you cut the book pages? Tear/cut the covers off first? Trace a pumpkin pattern then slice away?
