Plywood Plank Flooring
The second room we have done with plywood plank flooring. The first one was done staining each plank then when they were all dry, we installed them. This time, we installed the planks then stained all at once. Wow! Should have done it like this the first time. Only took about 30 minutes to stain the 9 x 11 room.
We used 3/4" 7 ply plywood again, but this time got Home Depot to make the cuts (each 4 x8 sheet cut into 6" x 8' strips) We sanded the planks to give a beveled edge to them, then cleaned off the dust for staining.
We used "Liquid Nails" on the back of each board and tacked each one down with 18 guage 1.5" nails. After all the boards were nailed down, we used a pole and pad to apply the stain. We let that dry for 12 hours, then applied the polyurathane the same way. We let it dry for 12 hours before applying the second coat. This time, we opted for a 3rd coat of poly. We then let that "cure" for 4 days before moving furniture on it.
Two rooms down, now for the rest of the house...
