Snow Luminaries
Make a beautiful centerpiece for the holiday table or for your mantle with these easy DIY Snow Luminaries made from mason jars.
Use a basic pint size mason jar, permanent spray adhesive, and epsom salts. I added sparkly battery operated tea lights, which you can often find in the wedding department in the craft store.
I chose a permanent adhesive spray as it works nicely with epsom salts Sometimes if you use something like mod podge, the salts can look clumpy.
Make sure you prewash your jars and let them totally dry. You want the spray adhesive to stick well.
Also when using spray adhesive, make sure you use it in a well ventilated area where you don't mind it going on things. I recommend doing it inside a cardboard box because it will end up everywhere near where you spray it.
First, I used a very wide painting tape to mark off where I wanted the snowy effect to stop, which was a little less than 1/2 way up the jar. I chose painter's tape because I did not want to have to remove any residue after rolling in epsom salts.
After rolling the jar in epsom salts, I poured additional epsom salts into the jar about halfway up the epsom salts on the jar to look like a snow-filled jar. This is where you will place the tea light.
This is the final look. I used them as a table centerpiece and placed them all on a 12 x 12 piece of gold sparkly glitter scrapbook paper. They'd also look lovely on a mirror.

Did you use a spray sealer afterwards? Thank you for the tip about gorilla glue vs
mod podge.... I was going to make luminaries for a wedding walkway, now I’m
going to find another use for the mod podge, and buy gorilla glue.
