Sweet Little Rocking Chair
I found a lovely little rocking chair for a child at a yard sale. I decided to remake it to sell at my craft fair.
This is the way it looker before I started. I began by making adjustments to the fabric upholstery. I left most of it on to use as the base for a new lighter fabric. I washed it down with TSP and lightly sanded the wood. I chose the fabric and paint colors and began to paint it
Then I prepared the fabric to cover the seat and back. I used a staple gun to attach the fabric and then used upholstery tacks. I found that the wood was so hard it was a challenge to get the tacks in. I ruined many tacks before I found that very slow light taps work the best.
I finished the chair by covering the bottom to make it look nice.
I hope some little one will find this under the Christmas tree in front December 25th.
