MUDROOM IMPROV.
When we moved into our new home almost a year ago, it left a lot to be desired when it came to the "mudroom"... We have a tiny space right as you enter through the garage which is of course the most used entry. I wanted to use the space wisely but also keep it fairly clear because it goes right into the kitchen and I don't want tripping hazards. I'd seen plenty of wainscoting ideas and tutorials online and I love the classic look of it so we tried to mimic the idea. Also, command strips are not adequate for a coat rack... :) learned that the hard way...
This is what happens when you don't pay attention to the weight limits of your command strips :) They did last a while before this happened though! (no toddlers were harmed).
We used MDF (just the cheap stuff) from Lowe's and started by measuring to find the best spacing. We used wider pieces for the horizontal and thin pieces for the vertical. We found as many studs as we could for the horizontal pieces because they would be supporting the weight. I also used plenty of liquid nails. I used painters tape to hold them in place while they dried. We didn't bother using screws or nails on the vertical pieces, only the liquid nails.
When all of the pieces were secure I filled the holes with wood filler and caulked all of the seams. When that was dry I lightly sanded the wood filled areas and painted. I used a paint/primer in one and did two coats.
We staggered the hooks so that the coats wouldn't hang right on top of each other from the upper to the lower. The hooks we also got from Lowe's and screwed right in to the mdf boards with smaller screws
I love the finished product! Granted, it's usually pretty full but it easily holds everything. I may eventually add some crown molding and a shelf at the top but I am very happy with how it turned out! It's grand central station every time we come in or out but it stays tidy and out of the way.

Is a cordless sprayer a good method to quicken the process
I love it! But, why worry about where the studs are if you aren't screwing or nailing into them?
